The University Library at Nord University strives to serve a diverse range of students – both through campus-based programs and “session-based studies” which combine online learning with on-campus gatherings. The student body is geographically dispersed and varied, composed of students of different ages, life situations, and academic backgrounds. In an effort to accommodate the needs of our current and future students, the University Library planned and implemented a robust series of standalone digital webinars. These were targeted at both students and academic staff and covered topics such as academic writing, literature searches in various databases, systematic literature searches, use of references and reference managers, and evaluation of sources. For the first two webinars alone, we received over 600 registrations, and the feedback from the webinar participants clearly indicates a strong demand for the webinar offerings. In this article, we share our experiences with planning and implementing the webinar series. We also present feedback from webinar participants and data from our internal evaluation. Finally, we discuss how digital courses can respond to the needs of both present and future students and thus contribute to more flexible and equitable educational offerings from the University Library at Nord University.
